{"id":1251,"date":"2017-10-12T15:44:22","date_gmt":"2017-10-12T19:44:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lilithebowman.com\/blog\/?p=1251"},"modified":"2017-10-12T15:46:20","modified_gmt":"2017-10-12T19:46:20","slug":"dont-disable-nav-mesh-agent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lilithebowman.com\/blog\/2017\/10\/dont-disable-nav-mesh-agent\/","title":{"rendered":"Don&#8217;t Disable Nav Mesh Agent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So I&#8217;ve been working on the game logic to my little Raccoon Run experiment for a few months now in spurts of an hour here or a minute or two there.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been racking my brain as to why it was not functioning properly.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I finally figured out that you can&#39;t simply disable the Navy Mesh Agent in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Unity3D?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Unity3D<\/a> you have to set isStopped to true. ? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/EpkO5Xcdnz\">pic.twitter.com\/EpkO5Xcdnz<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Soft E (@eanbowman) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/eanbowman\/status\/918277973542887424?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 12, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>I made the mistake of building out most of the logic I thought was needed before really testing incrementally.<\/p>\n<p>I couldn&#8217;t figure out why my raccoon game pieces were not moving forward after making their initial move.<\/p>\n<p>It turns out that I was disabling the Nav Mesh Agent component on the raccoon game pieces.<\/p>\n<p>This made it impossible for the game pieces to move after their initial move. Turning the component on again does not work, for whatever reason. It must be something to do with how it&#8217;s implemented.
